What is Triphala? 


In Ayurveda Triphala is a herbal blend that tones and balances the whole human system. This magical concoction is one of the oldest in Ayurveda and has been used for over 1,000 years..

The name of this wonder-blend translates to ‘three fruits’ in Sanskrit and it is made by combining equal parts of three dried fruits native to India- amla, haritaki and bibhitaki. Grouping these three fruits together creates a synergistic effect, meaning they are more effective as a trio than they would be individually. The blend is also considered tridoshic, meaning it supports all three doshas: vata (energy of air, space and movement), pitta (energy of fire, digestion and metabolism), and kapha (energy of water, earth and lubrication

Black myrobalan: Also known as bibhitaki, it helps to regulate cholesterol levels and keeps muscle and bones healthy and strong. It is packed with nutrients like tannins, ellagic acid, gallic acid, lignans and flavonoids. 

Haritaki: Haritaki is a nut-shaped fruit packed with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties. It's full of phytochemicals such as terpenes, polyphenols, anthocyanins and flavonoids. Used in Ayurvedic medicine to treat digestive issues.
